Jackie Cuncannan is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who provides therapy to adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and other life challenges. She works with clients’ existing strengths to build resilience, deepen insight, and support lasting change. Her practice is grounded in short-term behavioral approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Jackie began working with adolescents in 1990 after completing her master’s degree in social work. She later earned a law degree from Washington University and spent more than 20 years as a civil rights attorney, advocating for systemic reform in youth mental health services. As a parent herself, Jackie brings a real-world perspective to her work with teens, parents, and families. She understands the complexities of balancing personal and professional roles and is especially attuned to the needs of caregivers and individuals navigating high-responsibility environments.

Jackie is currently completing supervised clinical hours toward independent licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
